Service description
Tuberculosis is a contagious disease. It is an infectious disease that often begins with nonspecific symptoms (cough, fatigue, mild fever, etc.) and primarily affects the lungs, though it can also affect other organs.
To prevent the disease from spreading throughout the body and to avoid infecting others, early detection and prompt initiation of drug treatment are crucial.
Treatment must be long-term and consistently followed; otherwise, it can lead to a recurrence of the disease, the ineffectiveness of antibiotics (known as the development of resistance), and further cases of the disease through transmission.
The responsibilities of the tuberculosis counseling services in the counties and independent cities are:- Identification and Screening of Close Contacts of Tuberculosis Patients
- Support and Monitoring of Outpatient Antituberculosis Therapy
- In certain cases, providing therapy and ensuring its availability
- Further follow-up visits after completion of therapy
