Monument book - inspect
Service description
A property is listed in the Register of Historic Monuments for the purpose of informing the public. (Whether a property qualifies as a cultural monument, however, is already defined in Section 2 of the Hessian Historic Preservation Act itself: Any property that meets the criteria listed there is a cultural monument.)
If you want to know whether your building is a cultural monument of special significance, you can consult the monument registry. Depending on the city or county, this information is already available online for some areas: https://denkxweb.denkmalpflege-hessen.de
Anyone is permitted to view the monument register.
Procedure
If the list of historic monuments has not yet been published online, you must request access in person or in writing from the appropriate authority and demonstrate your legitimate interest.
