The program kicked off with the recorder quartet consisting of Rosalie Bräscher, Jakob Schmitt, Mila Marie Bräscher, and Willi Schüßler. They gave a compelling performance of “A Swing In The Park” by Lyndon Hilling.
Next up was Willy Schüßler at the piano with theImpromptu in As-Dur, Op. 142 Nr. 2 von Franz Schubert, und er erhielt für seine Interpretation viel Applaus.
Ferdinand Wehner am Saxophon und Erik Oldenburg am Klavier begeisterten mit dem zweiten Satz des “Concerto in d-Moll” von Alessandro Marcello.
Svea Gutmann, die vielen bereits als hervorragende Musikerin bekannt ist, spielte mit ihrer Violine virtuos “"Dudziarz Le Ménétrier-Mazurka in D Major, Op. 19, No. 2" by Henryk Wieniawski.
Mila Marie Bräscher played the Adagio and Allegro from Johann Pepusch’s Sonata in G Major on her recorder with remarkable ease. She was followed by Mahina Freier (cello), who performed the Allegretto from Dmitri Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major with passion and great power.
Saxophonist Luis Friedrich Plunien performed a special piece: he played “Rooftop Garden, Traffic” by Fulda-based composer Daniel Arthur Edwards. The world premiere of his piece had taken place as part of the music competition. The premiere performance in front of an audience took place during the winners’ concert.
The concert concluded on a lively note with the wind ensemble featuring Clemens Frisch, Amalia Klug, Theo Günther, and Jost Bachmann. They performed George Gershwin’s“I Got Rhythm”.

Sparkasse Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement, presented to the competition winners with the highest scores (35 points) (500 euros):Mahina Freier
Academy Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement (one class period at the “Louis Spohr” Music Academy in Kassel): Luis Friedrich Plunien
Sanderling Prize for outstanding artistic achievement in cello (a lesson with Prof. Michael Sanderling at the HfMDK in Frankfurt am Main): Eileen Tolsdorf. She was absent due to illness and was unable to accept the prize.
Ausgezeichnet wurden ebenfalls die Lehrerinnen und Lehrer, die für alle fünf bisherigen Musikwettbewerbe Schülerinnen und Schüler angemeldet haben. Sie erhielten Urkunden und Gutscheine für das Fuldaer Schlosstheater. Geehrt wurden Reinhold Feldmann und Brigitte Groß-Feldmann, Lidia Koch (Violine), Klaus Schenk (Drums, Percussion), Jürgen Vautz (Trompete, Ensembles), Johann Eisenmeier (Cello) und Maja Zikunow (Klavier).
“We are very pleased with the many wonderful entries and with everyone who, with courage and careful preparation, put themselves to the judgment of the expert juries and entertained us so wonderfully today,” said Julia Huber at the conclusion of the event. She extended special thanks to the teachers who “consistently prepare and support their students far beyond the scope of regular classes.”
Natalya Oldenburg echoed this sentiment: “It fills me with great joy and pride that this year, for the first time, we are also honoring the teachers who have guided our award winners with such dedication. This winners’ concert is not only a celebration for our young competition participants, but also a tribute to those who contribute their passion, experience, and support day in and day out.”
