Apply for an operating license for a child and youth welfare facility
Service description
Facilities that provide full-day or part-day care for children must obtain a permit from the relevant state youth welfare office in order to operate.
The permit must be applied for by the facility's operator.
If you, as an independent operator, wish to run a facility, you must meet certain requirements in order to be granted the appropriate permit.
You may not operate a facility without a valid operating permit.
If you do not submit the application on time, you will not be able to open your facility until a later date.
Procedure

Advice regarding the application process is provided by the local youth welfare office responsible for the facility's location.

The local youth welfare office reviews the application for an operating license and forwards it, along with its recommendation, to the state youth welfare office. The state youth welfare office grants the operating license.

For (semi-)residential facilities (excluding daycare centers), applications can be submitted through the “Service Portal for Operating Permits and Facility Oversight.” For information on accessing and using the portal, please contact the youth welfare office responsible for the facility’s location.
