Wenn Sie Inhaber einer Dienstfahrerlaubnis der Bundeswehr, der Bundespolizei oder der Polizei sind, können Sie diese in eine allgemeine Fahrerlaubnis umschreiben lassen.
Special information for the Fulda districtEin Führerschein der Bundeswehr, des Bundesgrenzschutzes oder der Polizei berechtigt nur zum Führen von Dienstfahrzeugen. Der Inhaber darf von Ihr nur während der Dauer des Dienstverhältnisses Gebrauch machen. Diese kann in eine allgemeine Fahrerlaubnis umgeschrieben werden. Dies kann während und nach Beendigung des Dienstverhältnisses erfolgen.
What documents are required?
Special information for the Fulda district- A recent biometric photo (taken within the last 6 months)
- A valid ID card, a valid passport with a current certificate of residence (no older than 3 months), or, for foreign documents, a valid passport with a residence permit
- Ggf. alter Führerschein
- Dienstfahrerlaubnis bzw. Bescheinigung der ZMK (sofern Bundeswehrdienstzeit bereits beendet, (Gültigkeit 2 Jahre)
- ggf. Dienstausweis

The fees are based on the Schedule of Fees for Road Traffic Measures (GebOSt).

If you have a criminal record and/or a traffic violation on your record—for example, for driving without a license—you will also be required to submit a current certificate of good conduct (no older than 3 months). In addition, an assessment will be conducted to determine whether there are any grounds for concern regarding your fitness to drive. In such cases, you may be required to submit a medical-psychological evaluation.
If you suffer from a medical condition that impairs your ability to drive, this may also raise concerns regarding your fitness to drive. These concerns may need to be addressed by submitting the required medical evaluations.
