Notice of Acquisition and Transfer
Service description
Within two weeks of purchasing or receiving a firearm, you must report this to the appropriate firearms authority. You must use the designated forms for this purpose.
Procedure
To register or deregister your firearm, please submit your firearm ownership card along with the notice of acquisition and the notice of transfer.
Once the application has been processed, the firearms authority will mail you your permit along with the fee notice.

What fees apply?
Fees are charged by the firearms authority for registering or deregistering a firearm on the firearms ownership card.
The fees under firearms law can be found in Section 7 of the Appendix to the Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of the Interior, Security, and Homeland Protection (VwKostO-MdI) dated June 7, 2013.
What else should I know?
- Sport Shooters: Special regulations apply
to sport shooters when purchasing firearms. Specifically, the purchase of firearms is subject to the so-called “gradual acquisition requirement.” As a sport shooter, you may acquire a maximum of two firearms within a six-month period.
