Application for Issuance / Renewal of a Falconry Hunting License
Service description
To practice falconry in Germany, you need a German falconry license issued in your name. You can apply for this license at the hunting authority responsible for the area where you reside after successfully passing the falconry exam.
Procedure
To apply for a falconry hunting license, submit the completed application form (see "Applications/Forms" below). Please check to see what other documents you may need to provide.
Provided that all requirements are met, you will be issued a falconry hunting license. You will receive this, along with the fee notice, from the hunting authority.

What documents are required?

: The photograph must be a recent one. It must be at least 45 millimeters by 35 millimeters in portrait orientation, with no border. The photograph must show the face with a minimum width of 20 millimeters and clearly identify the applicant. The background must be lighter than the face. - Copy of your ID card

hunting liability insurance Note: (at least 500,000 euros for bodily injury and 50,000 euros for property damage); the validity period of the certificate must fully cover the desired validity period of the hunting license. The premium invoice is not sufficient. - Original certificate of passing the hunting exam (only for first-time issuance)
- Hunting license and expired or current falconry license (for renewal)

What fees apply?
Fees are charged by the hunting authority for applications for a falconry hunting license.
Note on Discounts: For members of state, municipal, and private forestry services who have completed the required training and are working in this profession; for individuals currently enrolled in the designated training program; for qualified individuals (hunting consultants and experts), as well as for certified game wardens, the fee is reduced by 50 percent.
The fees for hunting-related matters can be found in No. 41 of the Appendix to the Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection, dated December 8, 2009.
