Statement on the Storage of Firearms and Ammunition
Service description
Under Section 36 of the Firearms Act (WaffG) in conjunction with Section 13 of the General Firearms Act Ordinance (AWaffV), owners of firearms and ammunition are required to notify the competent firearms authority of the secure storage of these items.
The declaration regarding the storage of firearms may be submitted by email to the relevant firearms authority.
The retention statement must be resubmitted if:
- a new security container has been added.
- They have moved.
- items should be stored together.
- The previous security container is no longer in use.
- the location of the security container within the storage facility has been changed.
Information for Clubs:
The storage declaration for clubs can be submitted by email to the relevant firearms authority.
The retention statement must be resubmitted if:
- a new security container has been added.
- the item is stored on a long-term basis by another private individual.
- that, going forward, the items should no longer be stored at a private residence but at the shooting range.
- the existing security container is no longer in use.
- the location of the security container within the storage facility has been changed.
