Permit and Renewal for the Non-Commercial Acquisition and Handling of Explosive Substances
Service description
The permit issued under Section 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG) authorizes private individuals to explosive substances within the limits permitted by law, to store them, to use, etc. These include, among others, nitrocellulose powder (NC powder) and black powder for loading and reloading cartridge cases, black powder and firecracker powder for permitted uses, as well as pyrotechnic articles in the respective categories for which a permit may be granted.
A permit may be renewed pursuant to Section 27 of the Explosives Act only if the relevant application for renewal is received by the competent explosives authority before the permit expires.
Procedure
To apply for a permit under Section 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG), please submit the application form.
Provided that all requirements are met, the permit under Section 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG) will be granted to you. It will be mailed to you along with the fee notice.Prerequisites

What fees apply?
Fees are payable to the explosives authority when applying for a permit under Section 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG). The fees under explosives law can be found in No. 33 of the Appendix to the Administrative Cost Regulations for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration (VwKostO-HMSI) dated October 23, 2012.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
Deadlines for submitting additional materials or providing feedback are set by the relevant authority.
If you already have a permit, you must submit your application for renewal well in advance of the expiration date; it is recommended that you apply for renewal 2–3 months before the permit expires.
If an application for certification requires a review of personal suitability and reliability for admission to a specialized training course, the competent authority may waive a new review if the certificate of good standing for participation in the specialized training course was issued no more than one year ago.
