Firearms Manufacturing License
Service description
A firearms manufacturing license is required if you intend to manufacture, process, or repair firearms or ammunition on a commercial basis or as a self-employed individual as part of a business enterprise. If the firearms manufacturing is not to be conducted on a commercial basis, you must apply for a non-commercial manufacturing license. The firearms manufacturing license may be limited to specific types of firearms and ammunition.
With a firearms manufacturing license, you may transfer firearms to other firearms manufacturers or dealers. If you are also registered as a master gunsmith in the trade registry, you may also transfer firearms to private end users. Otherwise, you will need an additional firearms dealer’s license.
If the firearms manufacturing business is to be operated by a representative, or if a person is appointed to manage a branch office or a dependent branch, a separate representative permit must be applied for on their behalf.
