The Children and Youth Support Program offers a wide range of services to children and young people in the Fulda district. Its goal is to support young people as they develop into self-reliant individuals capable of contributing to the community.
Educational Child and Youth Protection

HaLT - Pushing the Limits
“HaLT – Hart am Limit” is a proven alcohol prevention program in which the Fulda district has been participating since 2011. Among other things, the program aims to reduce and prevent risky binge drinking among young people and to ensure consistent compliance with the Youth Protection Act.
The program offers specialized assistance to adolescents who are admitted to a hospital with alcohol poisoning following excessive alcohol consumption. Here, the project is divided into two components—the so-called reactive component and the proactive component.
As part of the reactive component, trained professionals from Diakonie visit the young people at the hospital in a timely manner. There, initial discussions are held with the young people and their parents. This component is funded by health insurance companies.
The proactive component is managed by the Fulda District’s Child and Youth Services Department. It includes a prevention and information strategy aimed primarily at local restaurants, various event organizers, retailers, and local clubs. In addition, cooperation between the various psychosocial and medical institutions, school teachers, representatives of local clubs, the public order office, the police, and public youth welfare services is being further expanded.
