Social-Psychiatric Services
The Social Psychiatric Service (SpDi) offers free, personalized, and timely counseling and assistance to all residents of the city and district of Fulda.
Who can contact the Social Psychiatric Service?
People aged 18 and older can contact the Social Psychiatric Service:
- with mental health issues
- with mental health conditions
- during mental health crises
- with (additional) substance use disorders or substance abuse
… as well as their family members, friends, acquaintances, neighbors, or significant others.
How can citizens get help?
Assistance from the Social Psychiatric Service:
- Comprehensive professional counseling and assessment of the current situation, including crisis intervention if necessary
- Assessment of the need for assistance and the types of assistance available, including coordination of assistance
- Support tailored to each individual case (including ongoing support), assistance in coping with illness
- Support in developing new life perspectives
- Information about the clinical picture

- in person at the public health department
- outreach, e.g., through a home visit
Psychiatric Counseling Services
The Social Psychiatric Service is subject to data protection regulations and is bound by legal confidentiality requirements. Counseling provided by the Social Psychiatric Service is free of charge and can be anonymous upon request.
