Investment Incentives for Individual Businesses
Programs to support individual farm investments give farms the opportunity to remain economically stable, generate new sources of income, and operate successfully in the long term, even in a changing agricultural environment.
For the Fulda district, it is recommended to schedule an EFP funding consultation with the approving agency (Agriculture Department—Agricultural Specialized Tasks Division).
Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP)
This program is designed to support competitive, sustainable, environmentally and climate-friendly, animal-welfare-oriented, and multifunctional agriculture. The funding is also intended to help reduce harmful emissions and prepare farms for damage, natural disasters, or extreme weather conditions.
Funding is provided for capital investment projects in primary agricultural production aimed at improving working and production conditions, streamlining operations, reducing production costs, and increasing value added on the farm. It is important that the focus be on consumer protection, animal welfare, and the protection of the environment and climate.
Investment Support for Diversification (FID)
The diversification support program assists projects aimed at developing new sources of income in addition to farming itself. These include, for example, farm-based vacation or leisure activities (vacation rentals), direct marketing (farm stands or vending machines), and craft projects or services that complement the farm’s operations.
All information, documents, and instructions for applying for AFP and FID grants can be found on the website of the Hessian Ministry of Agriculture. It is recommended that you first schedule a consultation with the granting agency—the Agricultural Services Department, Agricultural Specialized Tasks Division.
