Pasture Wildlife Protection

Since the wolf returned to Hesse, the demands on herd and grazing animal protection have increased. To preserve grazing livestock farming, reduce conflicts between wolves and agriculture, and support sustainable agricultural management, the state of Hesse provides funding to farms with sheep, goats, cattle, and horses. Eligible for funding are investments in fences, materials, and herd protection, as well as ongoing costs such as fence maintenance or dog care.

There is no application deadline for requesting grants for investments aimed at protecting against damage caused by wolves.
