Hunting rights are the exclusive authority to manage, hunt, and take wild animals subject to hunting laws within a specific area. Hunting rights are accompanied by the obligation to manage these animals.

Note on Game Management

The goal of game management is to maintain a healthy, species-rich game population that is adapted to local landscape and cultural conditions, as well as to preserve and safeguard its habitat. Game management must be carried out in such a way that disruptions to the proper use of agricultural, forestry, and fishery resources—particularly damage caused by game—are avoided as much as possible.

Note on the Precinct System

Germany operates under the hunting district system. Under this system, individuals authorized to hunt may, as a general rule, hunt only in their own hunting districts and in communal hunting districts. The lower hunting authority at the Fulda District Committee is responsible for the entire Fulda district. The hunting authority receives technical advice from the district hunting advisors.
