New vehicle from within the country

Required Documents

• ZB II/Vehicle Registration Certificate/Certificate of Approval or Manufacturer's Data Confirmation
• Valid eVB number from the insurance company
• valid ID card (or valid passport with proof of residence)
• Foreign residents must present a passport with a valid residence permit and proof of registration (for EU nationals, the "EU ID card")

The fee for registering the vehicle is at least 30 euros. A fee of 10.20 euros is charged for the possible assignment of a personalized license plate. Additional fees may apply in certain cases.

Required Documents

•  CoC certificate* or expert report pursuant to §21 StVZO, or expert report pursuant to §13 EG-FGV**
• Valid eVB number from the insurance company
• valid ID card (or valid passport with proof of residence)
• Foreign residents must present a passport with a valid residence permit and proof of registration (for EU citizens, the "EU ID card")
• Proof of ownership, such as an invoice or bill of sale
• Vehicles imported into the EU require a customs clearance certificate

You may be required to demonstrate the vehicle. The staff at the registration office will be happy to provide you with further information on this matter.

The fee for registering the vehicle is at least 33.80 euros. A fee of 10.20 euros will be charged for the possible assignment of a personalized license plate. Additional fees may apply in certain cases.
