- Vehicle Registration Certificate / Certificate of Registration, Part II
- Vehicle Registration Certificate / Certificate of Registration, Part I
- Expert opinion from an officially recognized expert or test engineer, including all attachments
- if available, the component certificates or component approvals
- The fee is at least 11.70 euros. Additional fees may apply in certain cases.
- If the operating permit must be issued based on the expert opinion, the additional fee for this is 39.80 euros.
In the case of inspections for the reinstatement of a vehicle’s registration, the vehicle’s registration has expired. You may only use your vehicle for trips related to the reinstatement of its registration!
When changing the vehicle type, an eVb number from the insurance company is required.
Technical reports cannot be reviewed on Saturdays!
Individual Approval and Individual Operating Permit
Pursuant to Section 30 of the Hessian Regulation on the Determination of Competencies under Traffic Law, as of February 4, 2026, your local vehicle registration authority will also be the competent approval authority for individual approvals under the EC Vehicle Approval Regulation.
