Inner-city development in Fulda County
The rural areas of the Fulda district should continue to be preserved as attractive places to live, particularly in light of future population trends.
For this reason, Fulda County supports the towns and municipalities within its jurisdiction through a county-run grant program.
The goal of the subsidy program is to increase the density of development in town centers, combat vacancy rates, enhance the appeal of inner-town areas, and improve the overall appearance of the town. In particular, financially strained municipalities should be enabled to acquire suitable land and resell it. This can also serve as an incentive to refrain from designating new development areas on the outskirts of towns, thereby preventing further urban sprawl.
