Vehicles: Certificate of Registration - Change Owner Information (Name/Address)
Service description
Changes to the owner's information (personal changes), such as a name change due to marriage or divorce and changes of address, must be reported to the registration authority immediately.
The vehicle holder is required to report this. If the vehicle holder is not also the owner, the owner is also required to do so.
The changes will be entered in both the Certificate of Registration—Part I (Vehicle Registration Certificate) and the Certificate of Registration—Part II (Vehicle Title).
If only the address changes within the registration district, Part II of the registration certificate does not need to be submitted. In such cases, either a new Part I of the registration certificate is issued, or a corresponding sticker is affixed to the existing Part I of the registration certificate. No changes are made to Part II of the registration certificate.
If you purchased or leased your vehicle on credit and the lender or lessor has retained the Registration Certificate, Part II (Vehicle Title) as collateral, contact them so that they can submit the document to the registration authority to update the records and verify your right to dispose of the vehicle.
