Statements by Public Health Officials
A public health officer’s statement is an official medical opinion issued by physicians who work at the public health department, in the form of neutral, objective assessments. The opinion is independent and is based on examinations and (specialist) medical records. These are necessary so that government agencies can make decisions regarding potential assistance.
If you need a medical opinion, the competent authority will refer the matter to the public health department.
Which government agency you should contact to apply for the appropriate assistance depends on the type of assistance you need.
Reintegration Assistance
The Fulda District’s Integration Assistance Office instructs the Public Health Department to verify whether children with (possible) physical, mental, or emotional disabilities are eligible for benefits under Section 99 of SGB IX when an application for assistance is submitted.

Subsidy for a Stay at a Sanatorium
The Kassel Regional Council (Hünfeld Subsidy Office) authorizes the Public Health Department in accordance with § 7 hBeihVO

Benefits Under the Asylum Recipients Benefits Act (AsylbLG)
The Fulda District Immigration Authority has tasked the Public Health Department, pursuant to Sections 17 and 62 of SGB I in conjunction with Section 35 of SGB XII and Section 69 of SGB X, as well as Section 6 of the AsylbLG, with reviewing
