Schedule a Bulky Trash Pickup

When you register, or shortly thereafter, you will receive your scheduled pickup date. Your bulky waste will usually be picked up within 4 weeks.

Bulky waste items made of wood and other bulky waste are picked up by different vehicles. Due to variations in vehicle capacity, there may be delays of up to several days between pickups.
Please place bulky waste items made of wood (untreated, painted, or coated furniture made of solid wood or wood veneer, such as tables, chairs, cabinets, bed frames, wooden shelves, etc.) separately from the rest of the bulky waste.

The bulk waste collection service only picks up typical household quantities (max. 4 to 5 cubic meters). To dispose of larger quantities (e.g., from extensive cleanouts or household liquidations), you must hire a commercial waste disposal company.

The following items are not collected during bulk waste pickup:

• Waste from Business and Commercial Operations
• quantities larger than typical household amounts (more than 4 to 5 cubic meters)
• Waste from remodeling, construction, and renovation projects (you can dispose of small quantities at recycling centers for a fee). For larger quantities, you must hire a commercial waste disposal company, such as for:
  • "mineral construction debris" (stones, bricks, tiles, concrete, screed, ceramic sinks and toilet bowls, etc.)
  • Construction waste (peeled-off wallpaper, old flooring, soiled construction sheeting)
  • Construction and exterior lumber (lumber that has been impregnated or treated with wood preservatives, such as fences, windows, doors, railings, roof battens and rafters, patio furniture, playground equipment, small animal enclosures, and the like)
• Electrical and electronic devices. You can drop off “small appliances” at recycling centers. You can schedule a pickup for “large appliances” (electric ranges, washing machines, dishwashers, dryers, televisions, monitors, etc.) through your city or municipal administration. In addition, retailers with a store area of more than 400 square meters are required to accept returns of electrical appliances (both small and large). This applies regardless of whether a new appliance was purchased.
• Auto Parts and Used Tires
• Pollutants and hazardous waste (paints, chemicals, batteries, night storage heaters, etc.)
• malodorous or repulsive waste
• Small items that, after being reasonably broken down, fit in the trash can (such as clothes hangers, shoes, handbags, dishes, etc.)
• Recyclable waste for which separate disposal options are available, such as:
  • Paper, cardboard, paperboard,
  • Garden waste, tree, shrub, and hedge trimmings
  • Scrap metal (bicycles, radiators)
• Mirrors/mirrored doors or glass objects such as glass display cases and glass tables. Due to the high risk of accidents associated with them, these items cannot be collected by bulk waste trucks. When these items are compressed during loading, they shatter, posing a serious risk of injury to sanitation workers or passersby from flying shards. Therefore, please separate glass items (glass tables, glass display cases, aquariums, etc.), as well as mirrors and items that are firmly attached to mirrors (e.g., bedroom or closet doors) or glass (display case doors), from the rest of the bulky waste and dispose of them at recycling centers using the general waste containers.
• Due to changes in the law, electrical or electronic components on furnishings and furniture (e.g., lighting on wardrobes or display cabinets) may no longer be disposed of with bulky waste. They must be turned in to a separate nationwide take-back system for recycling. Please remove these components from the furniture and dispose of them as waste electrical and electronic equipment at recycling centers.

• Please place your bulky waste only at the edge of your property that borders the sidewalk or the side of the road.
• Under no circumstances should you leave bulky waste on other people's property.
• Please put out your bulky waste in a timely manner, but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the evening before pickup day.
• Please clean the collection area immediately after pickup (and in any case, on the same day as pickup) and remove any items that were not picked up.

Please note that the information you provide when scheduling a bulky waste pickup will be stored by the contracted waste management company, Knettenbrech + Gurdulic Service GmbH & Co. KG, so that the pickup can be scheduled and carried out.
