Gift market
The Giveaway Market offers residents of the county the opportunity to give away or look for used items they no longer need—free of charge and within the region. This means that well-maintained furniture, functional appliances, household items, unwanted toys, or leftover building materials do not have to be unnecessarily discarded. At the same time, this conserves valuable resources.
This program is aimed at private individuals and is designed to help ensure that functional, discarded items that can still be reused are not thrown away. After all, what has become useless to one person may be exactly what someone else is looking for—someone who might otherwise not be able to afford it or who has been searching for it unsuccessfully for a long time as a collector’s item or for further use. Often, these items end up in the trash simply because one person is unaware of the other’s offer or search. The Giveaway Marketplace aims to bridge this gap.
Terms of Use
It is free to use.
- Only listings from the Fulda district will be published.
- Only items that are being given away or sought after may be listed.
- Items may only be offered or sought without any financial or other consideration. Barter offers may not be posted, as goods would then effectively be used as a form of payment, which contradicts the intended principle of no-cost exchange.
- The “Gift Exchange” may not be used for commercial purposes.
- The seller warrants to the operator of the “Gift Exchange” and any potential interested parties that he is the lawful owner and possessor of the item, that he is free to dispose of the item as he sees fit, and that the item offered is not encumbered by any third-party rights.
- The following items may not be offered or sought on the “Giveaway Marketplace”:
- Animals,
- hazardous items, items contaminated with harmful substances, or items subject to marketing bans, such as corrugated asbestos-cement sheets or other items containing asbestos,
- Gift certificates,
- Real estate,
- Vehicles, vehicle parts,
- Weapons,
- Medications,
- Food,
- Items that may only be offered for sale upon presentation of legally required documentation,
- Items that have been placed on the index by the Federal Review Board for Media Harmful to Minors,
- Items that infringe on the rights of third parties, particularly copyrights, rights to a name, or trademark rights,
- Items that may pose a health hazard,
- Offers or requests for services.
- Links to other websites may not be included in listings or search queries.
- Incomplete entries—such as those with incomplete sender information—will not be published.
- There is generally no entitlement to the publication of offers or requests. The operator reserves the right to exclude from publication any listings whose content violates applicable law or public decency, or that damage the reputation of the service. Listings that contravene the purpose of the “Giveaway Marketplace” or the Terms of Use will be deleted.
- Users agree to promptly delete listings or search requests if they are no longer current. After 21 days, all listings will be deleted to ensure that listings and requests remain up to date. Users may post new listings for the same item.
- The operator (Fulda District) assumes no responsibility for the content of the “Gift Exchange Marketplace,” in particular for the accuracy of the information provided, and accepts no liability whatsoever for the quality, functionality, or usability of the items offered. The operator is also not an intermediary but merely provides the online platform for the “Gift Exchange.”
- The operator reserves the right to discontinue operation of the “Gift Exchange” at any time without providing a reason. No claims may be derived from this.
- By using the “Gift Exchange,” all participants agree to the terms and conditions listed here.
